The spherical radome has a diameter of 13,7 m and protects the radar system from environmental influences. At the same time, it exhibits outstanding homogeneous transmission properties, enabling the sensor to operate with high precision.

The radome was assembled on site from 58 sandwich segments and was then mounted as a single unit onto the steel tower.

Information: An extended security clearance (Ü2) is carried out for employment in a security-sensitive position within facilities critical to life or defence. This also applies when external contractors carry out work, such as the installation of radomes on Bundeswehr antenna masts. At Hahlbrock GmbH, in addition to the two managing directors, other members of the project and installation team have been vetted accordingly. The Ü2 certificates issued by the MAD are extended and renewed as required.
